This should reset the light for awhile, but the light will start flashing again unless the diode or entire battery indicator gauge are. The battery never charges, if you press the charge indicator on the battery the lowest indicator light flashes indicating a dead battery. There are a few aftermarket ones I've seen that have 4 terminals on the back instead of the normal 2, but I've not seen a factory cart that uses that kind myself. To reset the battery light unhook main battery connections (main negative on battery 6 first, then main positive on battery 1 next and leave them disconnected for a few min. I think there are a few versions of those meters where the LEDs themselves are turned on / off via the keyswitch, but the time-weighted volt meter is still on all the time. The power draw of the meter is a few milliamps at most - nothing to be concerned about. Those meters are time-weighted average volt meters more or less, and need to be powered at all times.
